The evening meal was outstanding with locally sourced fish caught that morning, showcasing the chef's dedication to quality.
There was a lack of hot water during our stay, which took multiple requests to resolve, detracting from the overall comfort.

The Portland's dining scene had some moments worth buzzing about, especially the reputable wood-fired pizzas! The room was delightful and clean, making for a cozy haven after a day's adventure. The team was also genuine and focused on ensuring comfort during our stay.
While we loved the room's spaciousness, the shower’s racket wasn't exactly blissful! And a £50 charge for our two small dogs was a bit cheeky, especially when the cooked breakfast was a steep extra £12.

I gave it a shot
What a delightful surprise! The warm welcome from the owners made me feel right at home. The quirky Charm of historical details, especially the doors from a nearby castle, added a unique touch to our stay. The cozy room and a hearty breakfast, particularly the full Scottish, were highlights that made our visit special.

The hotel has a lovely old-world charm and features beautifully re-furnished rooms with high-quality fabrics, which make for a cozy and comfortable stay. I particularly enjoyed sitting by the open log fire in the lounge, a perfect spot to warm up after a day of exploring the rugged landscapes.
The experience was marred by thin walls, which made for noisy nights when the neighbors got a bit rowdy. check-in being at 4 PM and the 10 AM checkout left little time to unwind. The breakfast setup was a bit chaotic and offered limited options, which created confusion about what was included.

The owner provided exceptional customer service, ensuring a pleasant stay with a welcoming atmosphere. The room was warm and comfortable, ideal for relaxation after exploring nearby attractions like the local lighthouse and pebble beach. the lighting on the second floor was inadequate, making navigation difficult at night. Breakfast timing was not managed well, resulting in disappointment when it was already finished. I faced issues with the management regarding a parcel, leading to frustration over their policies.
